Monthly Archives: July 2018
Are your scraps taking over your sewing room? Sew What? by Dani will be our guest speaker on August 8. She’s bringing a trunk show and will demo her technique and inspire you to use those scraps. Come see the beauty she creates.
Our fundraising quilt top is complete and at the quilter! Everyone did a beautiful job. It is a queen size! We’ll be selling tickets as soon as we get it quilted and bound.
Here is the completed Double Plus quilt wombatquilts.com made, isn’t it beautiful! We have 20 blocks right now so ours will be larger than hers. The bigger the better! Please bring your blocks to the July 11 meeting.
Our 6 month challenge is over this month! Looking forward to hearing your success stories. Vicki has another challenge lined up for us.
You are all invited to attend the August 13 meeting of the Friendship Quilters Guild. Martelli Enterprises will be presenting demos of their fabulous products and if 100 people attend, they will be giving away one of their tables valued at over $4500.00! You don’t want to miss this. They meet at the Presbyterian Church on the square the second Monday of each month at 10:00 a.m. Bring a friend! First ticket for the drawing is free, other tickets may be purchased to increase your chance of winning.
If you have been working on the Charity Challenge Quilt-Small Piecing, please bring! Even if your blocks are a work in progress, we’d love to see them. Let’s inspire each other!
So you have finished your project and it is time for binding. Oh, where are those notes on how to cut lots of binding? I did an internet search and found this video from Londa Rohlfing that demonstrates cutting lots of binding at the same time. I remember one of our guild members showed us this method awhile back and it is easy and works great.
Watch this video and give it a try next time you need binding for a new project.
